On September 13, 2008 the people who have been praying for Josh and Shelly Buck and their family were able to dedicate their new home on the NE side of Grand Rapids. As Pastor Jim Samra of Calvary Church said about the home, "When people stop and ask, 'where did that house come from?', the only answer we can give them is, 'it came from God!'"
Who knew that 100-200 people could fit into their house, let alone their garage as the rain continued on Saturday afternoon.

The Buck's new home is moving along very well. The siding on the house (as you can see below) is almost complete and the concrete work is soon to follow. Trim work and the mason work will begin soon too and we can then start painting the interior of the home. Landscaping will begin in 3-4 weeks and flooring will be wrapped up soon.

If a 7-year-old kid had his way with today's front page, you might not be reading this.
You wouldn't be looking at his picture.
Heck, he didn't give much of an interview.
It's enough, in his own heart, to know he was willing to delay getting his own long-sought hearing aid in order to help a stranger in need.
But it's a story the rest of us need to know, if it goes to inspire even one person to remember how this is the season not of indulging and getting, but of unconditional love and selflessness.
Charlie DeLano lives in Plainfield Township with his parents and three siblings. He was born deaf in one ear and had been saving for years for a single-side hearing aid.
We will pray, celebrate, break ground and begin construction of the new house for Josh and Shelly Buck on Saturday, December 15 at 10:00 AM.
The lot (and future home) is located in the Copperwood Plat on 3-Mile Rd. NE, just East of Leffingwell. Just turn North on to Coppergrove Drive, go straight and look for the people. This is a wonderful opportunity to show your children and grandchildren how the family of God cares for one another.
In January 2007, Greenhouse Ministries' Lead Pastor Josh Buck, and his wife Shelly, went to Cancun to rest and reflect after two difficult and painful years that included the accidental death of their infant daughter, Ava. On the first day of their vacation, Josh dove into the water and suffered a severe injury that damaged his spine and left him a quadriplegic. Although Josh has gone through intense physical therapy and literally thousands of people have been praying for complete healing, Josh is still unable to walk and remains confined in a wheelchair.
"Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." Galatians 6:10
Josh and Shelly continue to be joyful, faithful followers of Jesus, and their unwavering testimony has been a powerful voice in our community to the power of Christ even in the midst of suffering. However, due to his accident he is no longer able to serve as a pastor at Greenhouse Ministries in Eastown. While he is on long-term disability and the Buck's and their three children have been recipients of an outpouring of love from the community to meet their enormous medical bills, the family has an urgent need for a barrier-free house to accommodate the new situation in which the Buck family finds themselves. Additionally, because they have a special needs child, the Buck's need to be in the Forest Hills, Grandville or Kenowa Hills school district.
The Christians of West Michigan have a wonderful opportunity to come together and reach out to this family. By working together, we believe that we can bless this family and provide them with an ongoing symbol of hope and love in the form of a new house that will meet their current and future needs.
